How is MCP changing the way AI operates across systems?

AI is moving from conversation to execution. Instead of stopping at insights, it is increasingly able to take action across the tools we use every day.

At Zoho, this shift shapes how we build tech, focusing not just on intelligence, but on systems that can participate in getting work done.

This is where Zoho MCP (Model Context Protocol) comes in.

The gap in today's AI

Over the years, we’ve seen how powerful large language models (LLMs) can be. But in most cases, they operate in isolation without access to live business data, applications, or workflows. This limits their ability to deliver meaningful, real-world outcomes.

Zoho MCP addresses this gap.

What is MCP?

An MCP acts as a communication layer between AI models and business systems providing a standardised and secure way to connect with applications, databases, and services. Instead of building multiple custom integrations, MCP allows AI agents to interact with tools through a unified interface, with proper context and permissions.

In practice, this means AI can move beyond just generating responses to coordinating actions, whether it’s retrieving data from CRM, triggering workflows, or updating records across systems.

What this enables

When combined with Zoho’s broad suite of integrated applications, this becomes especially powerful. AI is no longer confined to a single function, but can operate across sales, marketing, finance, and operations with shared context.

Read on to find out how MCP enables AI to not just understand work, but also participate in it.

Smarter insights for improving conversion rates

Building new software is only part of the story. We’re also constantly improving the ones our users already work with every day. Introducing an upgraded version of our conversion optimisation and personalisation platform: Zoho PageSense 3.0. This lets users experience smarter conversion insights, deeper analytics, and faster optimisation on one unified platform. It's built for teams that want to experiment without the workflow headaches.

We're also excited to share the global rollout of the Zoho for Nonprofits program. Eligible nonprofits can get access to our suite of apps through Zoho Wallet credits offered as part of the program. If you know an organisation doing great work, pass it on!

AI integrated into your everyday workflow

Got a new lead? Learn everything about them in one click. Bigin's Data Enrichment feature fills in the gaps with publicly available data, so your team can understand leads without having to search online.

Automating just got a whole lot smarter. Zia in Zoho Flow lets you generate workflows from text, perform intelligent actions, and run agentic tasks based on context from our AI-powered integration platform.

Delivering quality software is now faster and simpler. Zoho QEngine has rolled out manual test case creation with AI, Selenium and Playwright execution, and unified reporting for both manual and automated tests, all in one place.

Features that actually save you time

Great conversations shouldn't pause for scheduling. Now you can share time slots and booking links right from your email with the Zoho Bookings-Zoho Mail integration.

Abstract management is now available in early access on Zoho Backstage. Streamline speaker submissions with custom forms, structured reviews (including blind reviews), and one-click session creation—all from a centralised dashboard.

Here's a simpler way to organise users on Zoho Connect: profile labels. These let you define roles, control permissions, and manage access with clarity. Create, assign, replace, or bulk import labels in minutes so everyone's always in the right place.

Staying connected made easy

Your sales and support work doesn't stop when you step away from your desk. The enhanced Zoho SalesIQ mobile app now helps you reply faster with an AI writing assistant, edit media, re-engage leads via WhatsApp templates, handle and record calls, view chat summaries, and manage tags on the go.

Screen sharing shouldn't need configuration. Share any browser tab instantly with the Cobrowse extension in Zoho Assist—no script embedding needed. The extension is currently available for Chrome and Firefox with more browsers on the way.

That's all the news we have for this month! If you have any questions or thoughts, just let us know—we’re always ready to listen. See you in the next one!

Until next time,
